Mothers: The Rarest Gift

FIRST, A tidbit about my MOM: She currently lives in California, as vibrant and beautiful as the day we moved from there though she is already 71 just last April 12th. She came here to the US when I was just 5 and worked here for 10 years to earn enough money to petition all of us. She has the stereotypical Chinese eyes, the kind that disappears when laughing or smiling. She taught me that "Be good" means just that- to be good at everything. She didn't mean competitively but rather be a good person in approaching everything. And with that saying in my head all these years, I found myself saying it to my own family. I'm glad I do...

Here she is with my fam at my oldest bro's apartment. (J-Pony is watching the tube)

Here's Mr. Man with Mama; she calls him her "Handsome". I agree!

Here she is at my third older bro's mini-mansion, last April, celebrating her 70th birthday! LOVE YOU, MAMA!

And here are my darling in-laws! (Taken last July)

My MIL "F" indirectly taught me to love being at home and being the mother of a home. I loved going to her house and just see her transform the rooms every month. And my SIL "K", she has a great sense of humor (I love hearing her laugh) and kind eyes that mimic her personality...

Here are the other lovely ladies of my family...
My lovely SIL (3rd bro's wife) "M", has a great singing voice and my awesome sis, "R", who rocks for raising two children on her own!

My other pretty SIL, "C" (4th bro's wife). She is sophisticated and fun. Loves to travel Europe!

Here's my sis with her children and mine... "AC" is shy and "KS" just adores me for taking his picture. LOL
My second bro's darling wife, "M". She is very kind and genuinely interested in all of us. Plus, she's the one who tamed "A", the wild mustang of the family. He didn't have to chase the girls, if you know what I mean. ;-)

I haven't forgotten about the other mothers out there... I offer all of you a rare orchid plant!

The rare wild Dendrobium parishii Rchb.f.
It is one species of the most beautiful orchids in the world !
Protection and production of orchids in their natural habitats need to go hand in hand, and the involvement of local ethnic people needs to be assured. This is the way to prevent the exinction of wild orchids in the intensely utilized landscapes of Asia.

It is a deciduous orchid native to lower elevations in Southeast Asia. The thickened stems are usually prostate or pendulous, to ½ inch (1.3 cm) thick by 12 inches (30 cm) long. They are easy to culture and a good orchid for beginners.

Blooming: In late spring to early summer, the 2 inch (5 cm) wide rose to lilac purple flowers appear on leafless stems.

Culture: Dendrobium parishii need full sun to partial shade with fast draining compost.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU!
