After 18 Years...

...and much prayer, one of my heart's deepest desires came true: For my eldest daughter to turn 18, go to college and that I would still be around to see it.

L has turned out to be all that I imagined her to be: Kind, stubborn, friendly, firm, sassy, intelligent, funny, beautiful and strong. She is amazing, just truly amazing...

Happy 18th birthday, Sweetheart! We love and miss you. Can't wait to see you next month!

I am blessed... and grateful to have a child among three who is learning the world on her own armed with the gospel and strong sensibilities that most teenagers only dream of.

I'm Grateful For... #14

Cute and Modest clothing!!! They make any beautiful young woman shine that much brighter!

(L wasn't keen on the camera snapping away...)

Tonight, L-Infinity, Kila and her new beau, Alex, went to the Stake Youth Dance and of course, I bought them new clothes (and shoes) for that! (Do I have good taste or what? ;-D)

They both look so adorable!

I did L's make-up; all that black needed just a touch of red on the lips and pink on the cheeks. Beautiful! Her new haircut goes so well with that houndstooth sweater dress and those peep toe stilletos. She looks so darling in it, the shoes complete the look and that smile is just lovely! Ross rocks!

I chose Kila's dress for modesty and the simplicity of the look. No extra frill to detract from her cute face and figure. She loves stilettos with cute fronts, just like me, so we both fell in love with that pair she has on. Alex was impressed with both ladies. I know Mr. Man and I were...

And... since I got both shoes and dresses at Ross, you know they were very inexpensive! *woot*

December 6th (19 Days to go...)

We had a busy day as usual:

AC/DEC District competition for Lisa, UIL competition for Jasmine in 4th grade Spelling and I was the coach for 3rd grade Ready Writing category. We left the house at 7:20, came back at 10:00.

Some down time, then back to homework, at least I started.

4:30, we had to go and see Lisa's Choir group perform at a community Tree Lighting Ceremony and Mall Opening.

We couldn't access our Christmas stuff from the storage, so we scrambled to get a new Nativity and stockings for Jasmine's theme- burgundy and gold. Went to the local mall, Target and Mardel. I found two new inexpensive ones. Yay!

Ate at KFC.

Went home to more homeworks, three due.

Did story time from our Christmas book.

Choir Girls (21 Days to go...)

Tonight was one of those nights where a mother just can't help but feel "well pleased" with her daughters. Both Jasmine and Lisa are now in Choir programs in their respective schools, and tonight, they sang "together" in a form of a "Cluster" concert.

(They are both on the left side (looking at it); Jasmine's group is on the left side of Lisa's and she's the fourth kid in the first row, wearing Santa hats while Lisa's up on the stage, third girl in.)

Seeing them sing their songs and then together at the end almost brought me to tears. My heart was full of gratitude for such beautiful, talented, and bright daughters... Charlie showed his pride by taking tons of pictures of the girls and the concert. Gotta love him for that! Ian clapped for his sisters as loudly as he can. He wanted to see if they can hear his clapping because they sounded really good each time. I feel so blessed to have my children, I can burst!
But I managed to compose myself, until the end that is when I had to holler my heart out and clap my hands red from sheer giddiness! All the choir groups were astounding! They deserved the deafening applause they received for each performance.
Of course, Ian had to try on the hat, though he discovered he didn't really like it. Oh, well...
I wish you were all here to share this moment with us; at least be here with boxes of tissues! :D

Story: The Christmas Bell by Margo Fallis

This is a fun and funny story to act out after a hard day of Christmas planning.
