PTA, Choir Concert & Metallophone

Tonight was what you would call, "a full house". You know the kind I'm talking about. The one where the moment you wake up, you're busy! Yeah, one of those days...

Ok, let's see, we...

~ Had to pick up a "Wedding for Dummies" book from a Freecycler. It's for reference for my two girls in the future. They want me to "cater" their weddings. So just in case they still want to, I'll have this book.

~ Had to go all the way to South Dallas to pick up my new dinnerware for my collection that I won from Ebay. It's my family's Mother's Day present for me. Yay!

~ Had to deliver a Math homework packet to L-Infinity's highschool since she was still feeling sick today, along with J-Pony and I-Dude.

~ Had a hard conversation with a great SIL.

~ Made two dishes out of Pillsbury Grands: one lunch, one dessert. Both were delish!

~ Nursed all three kiddos because I-Dude and J-Pony had a Choir concert following an important PTA nomination meeting.

~ Had to rescue J-Pony from unnecessary meltdown to locate her choir shirt (mandatory) that she couldn't find though it was right inside the door on a pile of newly washed clothes. (Ooopps!)

~ Got to see what Orff instruments look like and I & J did well on them. The highlight was hearing their names mentioned up on the stage with the instrument they'd be playing on. Both used a metallophone.


~ Had to detour to Wendy's for an 8pm dinner. Concert was at 7 and Mr. Man had to take a long nap cause he's working tonight.

~ Had to make sure all got ready for bed and prayed just in time so they wouldn't be moaning monsters in the morning.

~ Had to answer some important emails and catch up on blog visitors.

~ Had to do three posts as I am co-hosting for a meme for Thursday but have no time tomorrow!

Majestic Music...(9 days to go...)

It would seem that our cold spell is destined to be punctuated by warm, beautiful, reverent and majestic music, "out of the mouths of babes". Just as it ought to be... Lisa's Choir class have been performing almost every other night for various reasons. Tonight was no different; they traveled to Flower Mound, about 15 minutes away, to sing with the Flower Mound High School Choir to commemorate the 10th anniversary that these schools have been around. It was done at a local church in Flower Mound and they had special Choir director from Nova Scotia and a professional harpist from University of North Texas Music Department, as guest conductor and accompanist.
If there was one event that hearts were turned to what this season is truly about, it was here, tonight... All of their songs were gospel hymns dating back centuries like Deo Gracias and Stille Nacht (Silent Night).
It was hard to take any pictures; even the recorders that normally accompany them, opted for just an audio copy because they couldn't get a good angle where you can see everyone.
Our lord Jesus Christ must have been smiling and felt "well pleased" with these collected voices... I know, as a family, we were. RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET... Was this shopping center that had wonderful lighted trees in the front. I tried to capture them without flash, but it was so cold, I couldn't stop my hands from shaking!

Choir Girls (21 Days to go...)

Tonight was one of those nights where a mother just can't help but feel "well pleased" with her daughters. Both Jasmine and Lisa are now in Choir programs in their respective schools, and tonight, they sang "together" in a form of a "Cluster" concert.

Seeing them sing their songs and then together at the end almost brought me to tears. My heart was full of gratitude for such beautiful, talented, and bright daughters... Charlie showed his pride by taking tons of pictures of the girls and the concert. Gotta love him for that! Ian clapped for his sisters as loudly as he can. He wanted to see if they can hear his clapping because they sounded really good each time. I feel so blessed to have my children, I can burst!
But I managed to compose myself, until the end that is when I had to holler my heart out and clap my hands red from sheer giddiness! All the choir groups were astounding! They deserved the deafening applause they received for each performance.
Of course, Ian had to try on the hat, though he discovered he didn't really like it. Oh, well...
I wish you were all here to share this moment with us; at least be here with boxes of tissues! :D
